Title: Rexton smelt reports?
Post by: LobstermanNB on Jan 26, 2018, 05:03 PM
Heading there this weekend. I'll report back afterwards.
Meanwhile, if anyone has been there recently I'd love to hear how the fishing has been.

We ended up at Shediac Cape. Stiff breeze on the ice made it brutally cold out. Thank God for the tent.
On the rising tide in the morning we got a bit more than a dozen smelts on corn. On the lowering tide in the afternoon we got a bit more than a nother dozen, almost all of them on worms.
Lots of people fishing. We caught more fish than most people there. It was a bit slow going.
Ice is a foot and a half thick despite the warm spells.
The grand total for the dAY was 27 smelts.
