Good walleye bite.
« on: Dec 12, 2022, 06:33 AM »
Got out to a spot we tried to get to last week. Last week there was only a skim of ice, and now there is 5”-6” ! That cold snap we had in the middle of the week really firmed up everything. We dropped our lines at midday and d so uprisingly the bite was on from the start. Between 3 of us we caught around 15 walleye, and a few whitefish.

Lol, you make me old. I still have it but unfortunately while it still works it has a big dark spot in the screen. I use my Humminbird Helix 5 now, it’s a pretty good ice fishing unit. I will be posting videos of my crappie and walleye sessions from last week that shows the Helix 5 in action, just need to make time to sit down and edit the clips.

Hey Bootsrap, I was just using an 1/8 glow jig with a live minnow, I carry an arsenal of jigging spoons, they do work, but I tend to find the simple jig and minnow to be more productive, but jigging spoons/jigging raps etc have their moments too.

Our eye fishing is a ways off yet ,

Got the walleye video done, will post after I sneak to Walmart and use their wi-fi to upload to YouTube as it is about 60 to 80 times faster than my awful rural internet connection.

Seen a video or two of yours so far this year Simon, where is the pup? Have a good year my friend hope to meet you some day on or off the ice.
May your tip-up spool while your flag raises with hopes of landing the big one.

Rip-off is still around, he’s 12 years old now, he still comes for walks but our ice fishing adventures are done now.
