ICE SAFETY This Week and This Year
« on: Jan 24, 2024, 09:38 AM »
Not trying to be a hero but if even one person reads this and avoids an issue it's worth it. Looking like a perfect storm of BAD conditions in Vermont this week and weekend. I personally would bring a spud and use it constantly, I would not go solo, and I would not drive any vehicles on.

What's everyone's favorite safety tips?

Stay safe everyone!!!

Wear your PFD while walking out to your spot, and don't remove it until you know that the area you are going to be walking on will remain safe ice for the entire day.

In a year like this, I would also suggest no machines of any type on the ice until thicker ice is created.
The Ultimate Warrior is possessed with great power from the heavens above ! Against the mighty lake trout and pike and schools of crappie, the power of the WARRIOR will always ......... PREVAIL !!!
