"Team Flatlander"
« on: Oct 30, 2008, 04:40 PM »
Team Flatlander is looking for new members. We are out to give "flatlanders" a good name. After all the bashing of flatlanders last year we decided to form a team of ice fishermen, and being from the flatland, so to speak, we picked that for a name. Our soul goal is to convert certain  "mountain goats" to realize that all flatlanders are not bad.

If you are from the flatland, any state, you can join up.
Right now we have:
Myself- Capt Spike
NHFishah
Ol'Rustyboy
Sped

Lets turn this negative description around!

Can you define flatlander?
aahhhhh...............No. But I have seen a few people try. I never got the jist of there explanation, so I figured I'd work on a new definition by forming "team flatlander" and give the term Flatlander (since I am one, I don't live on a mountain) a good name.

I see Mt. Uncanoonuc in Goffstown everyday but I think that I'm still classified as a flatlander. But for an Ohio boy I consider myself a billy goat. Mt. Uncanoonuc looks like Mt. Everest compared to Mad River in my home state....but then again, so does McIntyre Ski Area!

Good luck.  Tall order.  It has always been intended as derogatory here in Vt.

The employment of effort, hard work, time, and energy put in locating fish will offend noone.

From what I have read as a description of a "Flatlander"  I guess I would classify myself as one seeing how I live in Hooksett.  Count me In Capt Spike   Either way we are all Hicks who have the same interest (Hard Water) :icefish:

the boys from berlin are known as team strictly business and we fish for team nh.......salmon seeker is on strictly business as well due to the fact that his wife's father lives there......here's the team......

jibbs (captain)

when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

As vermonner pointed out... it is derogatory.  A certain group of people who were labeled flatlanders don't feel they deserved that label (and I agree with them).  Instead of fighting it, they have embraced it and are trying to turn a negative into a positive.  I believe we have all seen this similar scenario before but on a much, much larger scale.

So there is an opening on team flatlander AND in the strictly business crew too, huh?!  ;D  Who's accepting applications? lol

I was born in Franklin... errr... I might have to start my own team  :-\

In these hard times....Time of falling ranks and division. I thought it this may be a good time for a little moral booster.

http://www.50states.com/facts/newhamp.htm

Take a gander at that website. You will say to yourself...."Huh". I never knew that". Are we all really that different....really?"

There's a whole wealth of worthless knowledge in there. There's something for everyone. From Jiggin69 in Alexandria to the water-walkers over in Exeter!

God bless ice fishing. God bless New Hampshire. And GOD BLESS AMERICA!

That link is pretty cool.  I didn't know about the first useless fact.  I guess that is how we earned Live Free or Die.

Instead of team NH, Team Live Free or Die?  ehhh... kinda hoaky.  But maybe something to add if anyone ever makes Team NH hoodies.

Nothing like the typical highjack on the NH forum. Look if you don't want to be on the team don't respond. We don't need a debate. The team has already been formed and we have made several video's.

As for "I thought you weren't into negativity or "nipping it in the bud this year" and this was an informative website?"

Where was my negativity? Where di I say this was not an informational site?? I find it really hard to understand you sometimes.
Oh yeah what was the name of that mountain you live on by Newfound lake? You know the one that doesn't make you a flattie.
