Yes the multiple hat options is a good thing. I went with the beanie/skull cap choice thanks to MXFISHER'S suggestion!!

i was having problems, then i realized i was using my e-mail in the account instead of my mother in laws, whoevers name is on the card, it has to be all that persons info, phone# addy and e-mail :tipup: plus if you dont have a paypal account make sure you hit the button that says use my credit card and not the one that says use my paypal account :tipup:

what you do is this, buy some of those rubber gloves they use in the hospitals, put 4 quarters in the fingers, dip the fingers in the detergent, put the fingers with the quarters in them into the slot of the washing machine or dryer, pull it tight on the wrist end of the glove and push the coins in, let go of the coin slide and pull the glove back, the fingers with all 4 coins in them pop right out, now your laundry is free, i just saved you $25 this year so you can support IS ;D

wow arch, where were you when i was going to college!!! I might have to just run up to the laundermat and give that one a whirl just for the fun of it....
Heres another....we used to buy the long neck beer bottles by the case..there would be a deposit that you would get back when you returned the bottles....So when we would bring them back, theyd say 'ok,,,now just go stack them behind the store, so out the front door and around back we would go, and put our cases on top of all the other cases.....so the next time, we'd first go behind the store, grab a few empty cases..'heres our emptys'....and you know the rest of the story...they didnt catch on for about 6 months before they finally put a fence around that area and only allowed access from inside the store......so that outta save you a little more money, pm. ;)

Just hit bottom as I was going out from the landing. Thought I could find some sort of channel but all I got on my depth finder was 1.3 ft and it kept flashing. Didn't see any mud or sand coming up (thought I was trimmed up high enough) behind me but I guess not. The only big problem was I had to get back and that meant doubling the damage!!!!!!!! Glad I don't have to trim up the auger ice fishing :clap: :clap:

I don't mind supporting IceShanty, it's' given me lots of valuable information I wouldn't have otherwise. I'm considering joining the Militia but do have a couple questions/concerns.
Concerns: I hope you're not going to end up with an "Us and Them" forum where Militia members stick to their forum and the non-members use the free forum. That would ruin the whole concept of friends sharing information and swapping stories.
Questions:
As a couple others have asked, what is the Special Content ?
Why have a separate forum for Militia members(see concern above).
Suggestion:
Why not offer discounts on products or events for Militia Members , instead of separating members and non-members into different forums ?
I could just buy a Beanie and the Promo Pack to support IceShanty ,maybe a hoodie, that would help wouldn't it ....

Thanks Scott- It's about 4 days and the Gold subscription in my profile is in "finished" status. The Hat I would like would be the one nearest a Navy Watch cap, a tight wool knit. I think that would be the skull cap; the stocking is a longer, looser weave, isn't it?

You're all set brrrknee. The weave is the same on both the skull and stocking style.

Hi Scott, I just signed up for the gold member pack, There was no place to put the cap that I wanted. I think that I am going to go for the baseball cap. I have so many knit hats I do not need anymore, plus I can wear the bb cap all summer too. :-)

I've tried to renew four times now, with Paypal, but have forgotten my password! The only time I've ever used Paypal, was to sign up for the Militia, over a year ago. Did the code thing and checked my email. Nothing, in four tries. Guess, I'll just have to send a check. PAYPAL! :( :(

no mine didnt shrink much at all but i suggest getting a really big one that way you can wear another sweatshirt underneath, thats all i wore last year and it kept me warm almost all of the time

yeah i dont think my hoody shrank too much , at 5-11 and 195 lbs the XL fits perfect ;)

Been lurking for a couple of years, posting every now and then with a report or two. I have learned a ton from this site and figured it was time to give back.
Just got the Platinum package, looking forward to getting all the goodies and such.

I just ordered the Militia Gold Pckage (I really wanted the flag to fly on the SnowDog and the stocking hat should keep my bald pate warm). Does this also make me a member of the Militia, or does that require another payment? It seems strange that this thread hasn't seen a posting in 10 years. Surely you've had some new Militia members join in that time. ???
