safe ice for tourneys?

Is the ice safe at hopatcong and Shawnee this weekend? I see it says the tournys are on, but what are the ice conditions.

I can't speak for Hopatcong but I spoke with Mark for Shawnee. He said the ice is currently 9+ inches and the tourney is on.

I would imagine since the tourney is still on at Hopatcong that the ice would be safe.

Spoke to DOWS today they said the tourney is on, said most areas have safe ice of 8+ which will probly grow with the temps reaching low 20's the next two nights.

Like i said in a previous post somewhere,they cancelled the tourny a couple years ago when there was a foot of ice in the coves but the main lake was pretty much open because of wind and such and they cancelled it then so if the tourny is on its more than safe. I am pumped up!

Hey guys can anybody give me any info on Lake Shawnee Tourney for tomorrow? Where is this Place Located at and what kind of Species are in there? Any info on this place would be appreciated ok guys!
