I can't see a way to make a poll here... maybe I don't know what I'm doing. lol

I was just wondering if anybody's the least bit excited about fishing this spring, or if everybody's just devistated about the ice season coming to an end.

Is anyone here strictly an icefisherman?

I really enjoy both ice fishing and regular fishing, i enjoy regular fishing more. My uncle has a house on fish lake in Laporte and from the spring to the end of fall right out in his backyard you can catch 8 to 10 inch gills and redear all day, its really fun!

It's not against my rules to do a little open water fishing

Ha...my jigging rods are spooled, I moved my headlamp to my river walleye backpack along with my Led flashlight. Got the gortex socks out. Vibe's are packed. Rivers have crested and are on their way down......3 to 4 days and I lay the smack down.

I'd rather be on open water, way more freedom and variety. Ice fishing is a lot of fun and a great way to get out and make the best of Winter however.

Year round.
That includes fresh, salt, fly fishing, lures and baits.
My friends and family always know where I'm heading!

Ice fishing in the winter is the only way to fish so thats what I do...but much rather be in the boat fishing on a balmy 75 degree day haulin in some slabs...alot easier and productive for the most part...for me at least

love the ice fishing but boat and rods spooled with new fireline are ready for spring river fishing for small mouth and walleye

Year round for me too! For me, the weather / season doesn't matter - just getting time on the water is paradise!!!! (Margaritaville is a state of mind too!!!! Attitude, not Latitude)
