I think it was one of these years we did not have any ice and I was in Ohio at that time doing an installation. The weather is crazy

It was bad, a lot of people pushed their luck on what ice did show up and 7 or 8 of them paid for their decisions with their lives !!

Had to be 1997.  In January 1996 there was a bad storm that shut down the state.  The turnpike was shut down for 3 days!

We never got that weather up here in 96, it went south of us, we went snowless in 96, it bankrupted 4 or 5 ski areas up here in 96 !

Where you live surflizard?  Tyrone received it.  It might not of stayed around for weeks but it was received in that area.  I was PCS'ing for Naval Weapons Station Point Mugu, CA, to Naval Air Station Willow Grove, PA, and got stuck on the PA Turnpike with my wife and kids.  I sat in a hotel for 2 days.  I was on my way to visit my mother who lived just outside of Tyrone, PA.  When I finally got there, I still couldn't drive up her lane to the house due the Juniata River overflowing onto 453 and and freezing to solid ice.  My dad had to come down and pick us up and bring us to the house on an unimproved road and the car stayed at the bottom of the drive for a few more days.  Here's a link for you to read about it since it seems it has already been forgotten:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_blizzard_of_1996.  It's an event I will never forget since it dealt with my children who at the time was 2 and 1 years old.  Enjoy the read.

I do remember that storm FF, I live in NH. It really put the boots to the mid Atlantic states ! It ran out of steam at the mass border and all we got here was rain.
