At least you got out. Keep us all posted on the condition there. I am planning on the 21st through 28th. If ice not good may have to go to Gogebic

Well... got up here yesterday around noon. Headed out fishing Wednesday evening and I got one short one. Snowed pretty good for a couple hours and got around 4 inches. I marked 3 good ones.
Thursday morning didn't mark a single fish till 9am. All small fish. Ended up with 2 pike and one perch this evening. Absolutely shut down after 430pm.
Ice thickness has been varying anywhere from 4" to 9"

Today was a little better. I got a 28.5" 8.2 lb fish this morning. Also got another pike. I sat up same spot this evening and did not have single mark. My dad got a pig at 31.5" and 11lb! One other buddy got a 29.5" 8lb and 1 pike. Just beautiful fish. I have pics and see if I can load em.
Where my dads shanty was he had 7" ice and his tipup hole only 15 yards out front of him only had 2" ice. Still somewhat sketchy so be careful. Hard to see bad spots now with the snow cover

was out on the 2nd reef yesterday ice is decent but the wind is playing hell with the pressure cracks, glad it was out of the south or the crack would have opened up. becareful out there as the ice is ever changing. Good news is the slush all melted :)

I'm guessing Polaris ranger?  Ha. Did you stay north of Gladstone or head out off the yacht club at all? How's the pressure crack looking on the west side? Crossable with sxs? Sorry for all the questions. Haven't had a chance to get out yet but looking like tomorrow will be the day finally.

I went off vagabond. No crack til you get to tip of center reef. You could cross, I didn't need to. Afternoon/morning me and boy had 18 perch and two walleye. 15 inch and 26 inch. All perch were big except for a couple. I saw sxs that came off west side right up to crack. Looked like he came from yellow gate. Yes. Absolutely no problem for you staying at vagabond. I'm sure you could also run shore north and go around the crack.

In the past I was told they put Christmas Trees out where you need to cross? Is that still the case? Thank you for the reports!

I did not see any trees out by center reef and I didn't see anyone come from the west to my side of the crack. I was right by the crack and would have crossed it if I needed to. Where the crack is, you can get to any spot you need to by using the right access.

Greatly appreciated H20walker. There will be a group of four Ohio boys enroute to your location soon. I will message you on the way up. If you would be up for hanging out and killing some fish that would be awesome. I'm told there is only one ass hat in our group but he denies all allegations.
