Work and fishing don't mix!!!
« on: Apr 20, 2008, 07:49 PM »
I work with a guy that is a member of the Shanty, I said the other day that I was going to play Hookie from work today day and go fishing. He got mad because he couldn't go and ratted me out. What should I do? Should I take action or should I rub it in that I got a nice trout and he didn't?
If fishing was work I'd never be sick!

Without work you can't afford to fish. Stay at work! Unless your job is fishing?

I've noticed that IS members are a fair bunch, with their opinions. I'd be interested to see him put his reasoning on here, for why he did what he did, & what responses are posted back...LOL

Turnabout is fair play . He ratted ya out at work... Rat him out here, maybe?
;)
Unless of course, the following possibilities...

Did you leave him with more work??.. In other words, did he have to pick up the slack that you may have left him because you weren't there? That might change how people answer ya here,right?...

A very interesting situation...

I'll be looking to see what happens next

I would take the guts from said trout (nice dang fish by the way) put em in a bag or something and put em in his desk drawer or somewhere like the back of his truck.  Use your imagination >:D :woot: >:D

Fishing should be the exercise of your skills- and its rewards the places it brings you to

I'd ask Red Forman.  He's always looking for a spot to stick his foot!
Looking forward to some "crappie" nights!

Distance yourself from this guy, he is bad news, ratting you out for going fishing is probably only a small clue of what the jerk is capable of. >:(

Kick yourself in the butt for letting anyone at work know you were playing hooky!! And don't post your outing when you get home!! Wait til the weekend and pretend it happened then.

I will be holding hooky, advanced hooky and master hooky courses on the first weekend of each month!!!!

If the boss asks....
It was a personal mental health day.

All keywords in Maine the blue state, and reprimandable in the state..... Hey its what they want so, theres the politically correct answer :)

Not that I would know...
I caught you a delicious bass, wanna play me?

Studebaker made a fine car. The ex-workers still talk of the fine job they had! They where all buds! They would say to each other I'm going fishing, and ask another bud to punch him in, in essence, getting paid to fish. What a deal? In turn, when the bud that punched him in wanted to fish, he would return the favor. One day they where all shocked that that fine job was gone! Think before you leave work! Without your job you won't be able to fish in that fine shack or wide beam boat.
Not long ago General Motors wasn't number one anymore! They let the number one spot go to afar off land. How did the workers try to get the number one spot back? They went on STRIKE! Go figure we aren't number one anymore, does it?

Per Wickipedia:  "A webinar is a specific type of web conference. It is typically one-way, from the speaker to the audience with limited audience interaction, such as in a webcast. A webinar can be very collaborative and include polling and question & answer sessions to allow full participation between the audience and the presenter...."    ;D

PIkeKing,
I've seen some posts from our fellow members, but not another post from you...
Are things going ok?
Curious to see what you decided to do regarding this situation..
I'm sure there are others that would like to know too.
