I  usually fish around the Webster area. The fishing wasn't that great for me last winter either.

I live in Rapid. I'm not sure what to tell you for lakes near Mitchell. I've heard Oahe is a good lake but I think this is more summer time fishing. For ice fishing in the Rapid area Deerfield (outside of Hot Springs) never fails to produce trout. I wish I could offer advise about your area. Good luck.

How is Shadehill?I have heard there is a variety of fish in that one but it might be a bit of a drive from Your area. :)

I am from Plankinton, I try to get out on the weekends when I can. I have fished Thompson and its usually hit or miss. I would like to do more fishing up around Webster this season. I am going to follow Stumper around this year, he always knows where the honey holes are, lol.

LOL, I cant believe you didnt make it out to mitchell last yr...Not that I need it,but I lost my GPS this summer with  ALL my coordinates in it :-[ Hope whoever fnds it isnt an Icefisherman :P

Are you planning on hitting any of the True Ice  tourney's this yr? Im planning on going after Fisherman of the yr Title ,so splitting gas would be a HUGE help....

Coordinates, who needs coordinates, I have pictures of your shack on the lake in several different locations, haha. I am going to make it out to your new silo shack this year tho, the few times I went around the lake last year you were working and I was just killing time between appointments. I dont think I am going to do any of the True Ice Tournaments this year , not sure, have to see. I am going to target Perch and Crappie as much as possible, not sure where that is going to take me. There are alot of lakes North of Webster that I want to try out and with gas prices going down, knock on wood, it might be more doable than last year. This living on a 40 hour check is getting terrible, lol.

I live in the black hills. We have some small 200-300 acre lakes that give up some good perch, crappie, and pike. Once in a while I go pikin' at devils lake in ND, but when I can't afford to do that, I do very well in this area. I've definately caught more 12 inch perch here than I have up there. My biggest pike up there was a 14 and a half. My biggest here is 18 and a quarter.

from the Milbank area, try to get out on the week-ends but it seems like the week-ends are always horrible to fish, either cold fronts or windy.seems like the best days are mid-week.fish the Webster area mostly. Waubay,Enemy Swim,Bitter,Dry Wood,Waubay National Wildlife Refuge.

I live in Sioux Falls and mainly hit the lakes within an hour or so of town, but with gas back down to reasonable prices I will probably get up the 81 ponds area, Whitewood, Brush, Thompson etc.
Wherever you go.......there you are.

I live in Madison.  My ice fishing excursions pretty much keep me in NE and SE SD.  I usually target panfish, but you can't beat a good nighttime walleye/crappie bite.  I do also make a few trips out to the river in Jan. & Feb to catch the nighttime eyes.

From the Black Hills (Spearfish).  I am new to the state.  I went out ice fishing last winter (first time in SD).  I have two boys (aes 12 & 9) that like to tag along.  We hit Newell, Orman and Sheridan last winter.
