Fan in shack
« on: Nov 30, 2006, 05:05 PM »
Wondering if anyone remembers the thread where they used a computer fan in their ice house to circulate the air to improve heating? I have rigged one up and was curious what to expect F/ battery life. Think it was Mac but not sure, anyone else try this?

Thanks

I rigged a couple of 80 mm computer fans in the ceiling of my icehouse to circulate the heat. I wouldn't worry about the current that they use because it is very minimal. You may be able to google current usage of cpu cooling fans and at least get an idea. I have 9 12 V batteries in my ice house and I don't worry about running out of power. I also have a generator if I do decide to charge batteries. There are guys that have cpu cooling fans in their portable running on Vexilar batteries with no problem. I think computer fans probably draw less current than anything other than a depth finder.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

I have two CPU fans in my house, running on a vexlar battery and have had them going easily 20+ hours between charging.

LOL Scott . So true .

Mac left on his own accord lads and his VERY own steam and if your in such anguish and want to chat about other things than what were here for on the equipment boards then please do move along . The scream of machinery and drags on our reels is more than enough I believe .

And heah I'm adding a pc fan to my otter shack to circulate the air . Should almost make my lil buddy a big buddy and since it's 12 volt will work off of batteries that are with me anyhow .  ;D

What kind of an arse-kissing post is that?
Mac knew more than all of us combined about equipment.
And you know it!

Are you guys trying to alienate members?

BYE Haliman .Glad to have known you if you wish to leave and the board  will survive without you  as it has without MAC.  ;) As far as him knowing more than all combined that BS won't fly . Lots here know plenty and if anything Mac researched and found answers that others ORIGINALLY already provided and not all his came from actual personal use if you must know but I did like the ol coot and wish him well wherever he hangs his hat these days and maybe someone will share the link with YOU  so that this soap opera channel of YOURS can be changed back to something that we want to watch and on topic . ;)
