Unless you have to have a 10inch hole the 270 will do the job at a lot less money.

Thanks Bee but I'm looking at the older 305 not the new 350

The 350 weights 17.6 lbs. So I think that will be close. The 305 and 350 turn less rpm than the 270 that most folks have.

I have a friend who has an older one I gave him. That thing is a screamer. I don't think it would handle a 10 inch as it turns a lot of rpm at the shaft.

I have the 305 and also cut 10" holes with it.
It works fine. :D
As for weight I don't know off hand but it is light especially when compared to my 3HP Stikemaster Cobra head.

What kind of 10" bit do you have attached to your 305?
How's your 305 start in the cold?
Which auger do you use, your 305 or the cobra and why?
Thx

Bit is a Strikemaster with chipper blade.
Starts great in the cold.
I actually have 3 power augers. I have an Eskimo as well with 8" bit.
My Cobra was my first power auger, the Eskimo was a backup to the Cobra and the Tanaka was a deal I couldn't pass up.
The Tanaka is my go to power head because of how it runs and how light it is compared to the Cobra head.
The Eskimo doesn't get used much at all due to the fact I cannot trust it with all of the plastic on it. It broke on the trip to the lake first time it was used. :(
It will stay @ my cabin once it is built and be used for drilling a hole in the ice to get water for the cabin in winter.   ;)2
