Old-real old, Pike trap here in Sweden.

Maybe it could double as a guard to your shanty while your away ;D

kidding aside, got to take into consideration that this was before fishing as a "sport" but rather a necessity here.

Dang, that would pretty much snap a pike in half!  :woot:
How do you bait something like that?

I can see where it would work   8)

Cool antique fish torture device Swede.  Looks like it could catch and clean you fish
in one operation.  Gotta love that Lancelot joke bwalleye but I've heard it told where his response sounded something like naanaanaa.  Funny.  ;D ;D ;D

-22c today- just got back in and warming up my fingers, Got to get some of them neoprene gloves!! I drilled into some mud with my new auger and that td me off a little. I like it though, cuts through nice, the UR rappella 205mm. Thing is, if you mess up the cutting crown, it costs half the price of the auger to replace. luckily no damage. I learned a lesson, sometimes the floor is closer than you think :-[  All that said, I didn't catch anything sept 2 small perch. Fun time anyway, and now waiting on the super bowl! Comes on awfully late here.

I guess you would tip that trap with a small perch or what is called a mört here, some small fish anyway. It would do a number on the Pike. Maybe I can find an old timer here to take me out and show me how its done. I would just like to see how it works.

??? curious to know if that trap was set up in possibly in smaller channels that lead to the pikes spawning grounds and used only when you can predict that a pike is likely going to travel past it or were they used with bait, under the ice or??? :-\

There is a hook like spike to put on bait. I really do not know how they were all rigged up or where or when. If I run into some old timers and if they understand my Swedish :P, I will try to find out.
