I think a some braided fishing line and a some-what heavy spoon like a KO Wobbler (maybe change the treble hook) should hook into one of the holes on one of the posts would be able to pull it up. Good Luck!

Say what?? You're going to buy a product, use it, then return it?? Do you do that at restaurants also?? Suck it up. You made a mistake. Time to pay for that mistake.

x2
YIKES!  Pity the unhappy homeowner who now has lake water inside the pole sections and has to pay for a return trip to Wally World for the 2nd pole (that also has water in it)

I just checked the depth by measuring the length from my bobber to the jig and it's closer to 20'. So my plan is to use 2 pole to get down there. after I get the battery, I'll return the poles and net to Walmart. The battery is at least $35 and hopefully the poles will cost nothing.

Really!?%!!??&%@$
It is time to just chalk this up as one of lifes, less expensive, lessons and walk into TSC for a replacement battery. It'll cost ya some money but will save yer karma, eh.

Why dont you just use a big jigging spoon and some 30# braid. Hook the hole in one of the terminals.

So I got it back, by hooking my fishcam to a deep cycle battery and using the net and 2 telescopic painting poles. The hard part was getting the net under the battery, because of the flex in the poles. If I didn't have to haul my gear so far, I would just keep using the deep cycle. Hopefully I will get my permy built soon.
I decided to keep the poles, but it had nothing to do with my karma or my upbringing. They will be used for another project. 2 poles dipped into water for about 10 minutes, then dried off. I think Walmart would accept them back and the next buyer would be getting the same product that I did.
As for karma, during my trip yesterday, the guy I took fishing, broke the latch on my Subaru Outback, then the battery fell into the hole, I had a wire shoved through my thumb, finally I was skunked for whitefish. Karma and I are even!

Changed my middle name to "You should have been here yesterday".         Remember it's called fishing, not catching.

I would have used a heavy line, snap swivel with heavy sinker and numerous treble hooks. One of the trebles would have caught on a battery post. Use the aqua view for direction.
God grant me strength to catch a fish
So large that even I
When telling of it afterwards
May never need to lie.

You're still clueless that's a dick move??? Really?!?
They have "Rental Stores" you know. Places where you "rent" an item, with an understanding that you will return it.
