St. Marys lake is great for brookies. But trying to get up to the lake after early december might be really tough not to mention the ice is probaly so thick you might need an extension on your auger. There are also some beaver ponds along the road on the way up to Jefferson that have a ton of em but again access might be tough if you don't have a snowmobile since I think the road gets closed in the witnter.
