We were out on Birch island for 2 days we put in at Lily Bay, we didn't run into any slush but as soon as we shoveled off the ice (30 inches of ice) and drilled the water was coming up, fishing was slow but we the fish we did catch were pretty decent. there were 1 foot drifts out there it was pretty rough but along sugar island was fairly smooth.
