Title: Son's first outing of the winter
Post by: FreshwaterPhil on Jan 29, 2024, 05:54 PM
Took my 11 year old son Zev out for his first outing of the season. Stocked brookies made for an easy outing.

Nice job Zev, new recruit created. My grandson got the bug 2 years ago, he's chopping at the bit for first ice since.

This place is becoming a mosh pit... Brookies are great eating.

As a video game addict, he really liked the flasher. Still a bit too small to drill holes though.

I have a really, really old Humminbird in the boat, and my kid says "the graphics are retro"  ::)

Heck yeah! Way to get him out of the house Phil!

Could be a game changer when he can handle the drill!  :woot:

Eventually... I enjoy drilling all day, keeps me warm, as I don't use a shelter.

You are raising him up right Phil. My son has been ice fishing with me since the age of 4. He learned everything I know by the time he was about 12, so Zev will be the master in a couple of years if he keeps going regularly. Those brookies look great !

Zev's been at it since the age of 2, like the rest of my older kids. My friends would laugh at me when I was changing diapers during our outings. Unfortunately, they grow up too fast, and I have to convince them to come out with me these days.
