bought a flasher this winter season because of information on Iceshanty.com?  And what flasher did you end up buying?

I bought an lx-5 this season. My Vex fl-8 needed a new tranceducer and battery so Instead of getting those, I decided it was time to upgrade. I was going to get a Vex fl-20, but then I read all the posts on here about Marcum so I decided to give them a shot. I am very happy with the lx-5, and it's all due to Ice Shanty.

I, too, bought an LX-5.  I sold my FL-8 early in the year, and after some financial issues, I was finally able to get the Marcum...Was it worth it?  Absolutely...What a fine tool this is.  Too bad I got it so late in the season...but it's better late than never!

Got a Lowrance X67 this season.
Never had electronics before and man what a difference!
Now I see why people say they wouldn't bother stepping on the ice without them.

A little quality time with the unit on the ice and I've got figured out and dialed in.
Now I'm looking forward to putting it on the boat after ice out.

Shanty was pretty much responsible for my entry in to electronics fishing this year.  I made the decision to purchase a flasher from my readings here and made my decision to go with the VX-1 after reading about it here and learning of the mail in rebate that allowed me to get a true flasher at an affordable price.  I could not be more happy with my decision.  The unit performs as promised and has opened a whole new icefishing experience for me at a working mans price range.

Vexilar FL-18.  If I left it at home ...I'd turn back to go get it.  Thats how much I like using it.  I can't tell you how much time they save in searching for fish if your jigging hole to hole.   I'm sure they are all just great for locating fish.

A few years back I got an fl8 because of this site. I decided at the end of last season I was going to upgrade to something with zoom. After doing some research and talking to guys. I decided to go with the Marcum LX5 since they became a site sponsor. I am very glad that I did and couldn't be happier with it.

VX1 MarCum after getting a Eskimo111 and a Pak shack the old Lowrance flasher just did not cut it.
