Last Saturday I lost a rod (I had just bought the day before) and my tica cetus down the hole to a fish. My oldest daughter didn't want to spill her hot chocolate, so she let my rod go down the hole.

Now I have 2 new rod and reels.

The round portion to my ice skimmer. Was chipping ice with it and started floating like a spoon to the bottom. Only 8' of water, could see it lying there. I'll save the trouble and buy a new one with a built in chipper.........

my buddy and i were fishin pike and we had a counter to keep track how many we caught and it was on 88 when it went for a swim.

Sunday we went back to the spot we fished Saturday. Holes only had 1" of ice and my friends auger wasn't doing a very good job cutting through; so he came over, put together my two piece spud and promptly sent it to the bottom of the lake with one hard stroke!

He sent me an email today... new two piece Deluxe Mille Lacs Ice Chisel on the way!

I lost my Dewalt work light. It was still on when I left about an hour later. Fished it out the next day, new bulb and bat and it still works!

Gerber multi-tool is the most memorable and a bunch of other small value items. My sunglasses almost went to their watery grave a couple weeks ago, but my cat like reflexes snatched em out of the hole

my brother had brand new Berkley lighting rod and wire rod holder wanked down a hole. we retrieved the rod holder but never found the rod. And i almost lost a rod but thank god pageman1j was walking past my setup heading back to his shanty. and caught my rod just as the last eyelet was heading into the water. Also he caught the fish that almost got the rod.his biggest through the ice. A 24 inch pickrel. i can't thank him enough.

i sent my fathers spud down the hole when i was like 8-9 yrs old, i was screwing around with it and down it went. i wasnt allowed to touch anything with his name on it on the ice for like 6 yrs, man i thought i was gonna have to go down and get it myself right then....dont think ill ever forget that

Lost a skimmer years ago thru the ice. Now I drill a hole in the handle, tied on a loop of rope for a wristhandle. Haven't lost one yet.

Years ago, I had a wooden jiggin rod disappear under the ice 2 times while fishing. The perch were hitting so lite and I was working with a hook and minnow, no weight. Sittin there and all of a sudden, there it went. After a couple of minutes I could see it sitting under the ice a couple feet away. Sure as heck I didn't feel like putting my arm in, I grabbed my hand auger, drilled a hole right at the end of the handle, and it popped right back up thru the hole. Lost the perch though! And that happened twice in one morning.

how about what the Kids threw down the hole lol last weekend took my grandson to the shack with me well he is 29 mo. old was making him some beefaroni brought a large can. well i wasnt hungry yet so took some out of the large can for him set the can down on a small table started to cook his up and before I knew it he grabbed the can and promptly threw it down the hole! perfect shot! right down a 6" hole (I never drill anything bigger when I take him) No lunch for grandad!

My left ice creeper, several rods, car keys, jigs that were so mesmerizing I forgot to tie them on before I tossed them down the hole

and just last week the expensive clip-on sunglasses that I had just bought the week before

watched them flutter down and go bye bye. What about the stuff you've brought up throught the hole that wasn't a fish? caught a 10 foot landing net once...still had the spinner in it but the walleye was long gone!

had a fish on last night grabbed my rod and in the same motion kicked my skimmer down the other hole not sure why didnt have it hooked to my bucket but watched it drop like a big spoon in 30+ feet of water. It did hit my other line on the way down but didnt hook it. Damn good thing I have spares.

One day out on lake Ontario me and my buddy where fishing for pike. About mid day we where greeted by a DEC officer while we were skimming the holes. When he came over to me i had just finished. I pulled out my wallet and was reminded that my check book was in my pocket as well. All I heard was a splash and there it goes. I had lucked out though, about 20 min later i had a flag on the same tip up. I had watched my line for a couple min. and nothing had moved so I pulled up my bait. I was suprized to find that my check book had cuaght one of the trebles on the way down.

I have an Aqua View scout and it works great during the day in all the lakes I've had it on. Twenty five feet of water shouldn't be a problem as far as natural light.

7:30 am --Lost a brand new pair of rapala hemos ,gotem for x-mas 1st time out with them had them on my lap . Caught a 5lb Pike jigging, stood up to reel and play the damn thing and they slid right off my lap into the hole ka-plunk didnt evern touch the side of the hole (perfict shot). What really pissed me off was about 5 min. earlier I was telling my buddy next to me how glad I was to have them and I couldn`t wait to use them . I heard about it all day.
