Burlington VT, Canada questions?
« on: Mar 28, 2018, 02:59 PM »
Hi all,

I have had my ice gear away for a little while now, but in a non fishing related turn of events my wife and I will be spending some time 1st week of April in Burlington VT, and 2nd week of April in the Lake Morency, Quebec area approx 45 mins north of of Montreal.

Wondering if any of you guys have any VT info for a place close to Burlington to try on my trip that might still have ice next week?

Also wondering if any of you guys have ever fished Canada?  What does it take to get on the ice there; would I need to have a guide or is it just a matter of the right research, license, etc.?  Didn't see too much in my search of the Canada portion of iceshanty.

Thanks and feel free to P.M.  I welcome info of any type!

Trout season for VT does not open until the 2nd Saturday of April. You can fish the Winooski and lamoille Rivers for trout though as they are Champlain tributaries and open year round for trout.
Hard water Tight lines Flags up. Doesn't get any better than that
