I just looked at the regs for LG, yellow perch, any size, limit 50. The limit is the same as statewide regs unless I'm missing something.http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/31443.html
There was no limit on yellow perch. Still is no limit on much larger neighboring Lake Champlain
what I find ridiculous is someone from another state telling new Yorkers how many of our fish we can take home and eat
No need to freezer burn that many fish.
There is a limit restriction for a reason, 50 a day is more than enough. I'm picky on what size I keep, nothing under 10". If you keep the small ones then there won't be any bigger ones! Yesterday when I was leaving MDB a guy was going on with a 4 wheeler, I hope he made it home safe! IW
+1, 50 is plenty. If you want to keep on fishing, keep 49 and throw the rest back!
you can keep 50 and c&r
Nothing under 10"?!?!You should see the buckets I haul off Harrris. I pride myself on my ability to clean a 7" perch.
A buddy I fish with doesn't mind keeping them a bit on the small side sometimes, I always comment about how much better than me he must be with a filet knife.
C&R perch
Between giving to friends and relatives, what I eat and several fish fries I like to have a camp I can easily go through 1000 fish. That's what I caught last year and was out after early muzzle loader at camp.
Someday when the fish are all gone because some people have to be pigs. They will say gee! I wonder what happened, it use to be good here. Even 50 is to many. I wonder what the total take is every day between everybody that's fishing. Probably why the majority of perch on George are dinks!
There is no limit on champlain and we still get hogs every trip unlike george. And many people commercial fish it
