Sad to say, my determination is week two of December. My first time on the ice at big firehole is usually Thanksgiving.

I got on the ice november 7th last year and really wanted to beat that this year but its not lookin good. Gonna try to find some ice later this week though!

Boysen has ice south of the bridge and some Ice north of the bridge. I will drive to poison creek and look tomorrow and take a picture.

Did you get that picture? I'm gona head up sunday at around noon. Pretty confident i'll get some lines in the water by then.

Ice on Poison is there but that's about it. Scared me to walk out on it with the spud bar. MAYBE an inch or so with open water at the head of the bay and the main part of the lake to the west. Ice was cracking as I walked out about 10 feet or so from the bank. I would say it's not fishable yet and that takes a lot for me to say.
