Ice Fishin' must haves

What are the jigs, spoons, or other lures that you won't set foot on the ice without when targeting bluegill, crappie, and perch? I'm going to go stock up in a couple days, and I was wondering what my best investments would be. In addition, I was wondering if there is any merit to having a large daredevil type spoon with a shiner or sucker on a tip-up as opposed to a plain trebble or circle hook. I saw a youtube video that utilized this technique, but aside from that I haven't heard much about it. Thanks in advance and best of luck to you all.

If you are going after panfish best thing to do would be to buy a variety of small jigs in lots of different colors, you never know what they are going to like the most but reds and greens and yellows work best for me, lures i wont go perchin without are forage minnows, teardrops, swedish pimples. For tipups i think that plain bait on hooks would be better, with live minnows the weight of the lure would really hinder their movmnt

No bluegill or crappie up here, but I have my best luck on perch with the forage minnow and a deadly dick, hali, or kastmaster with a chain dropper.

I've got agree with the forage minnow, if I could only carry one jig (which would never be the case, I carry way more than I could ever use!) if would be the forage minnow. But like fish_finder said, a varied selection of small jigs is the way to go.

For me I would take a good mix, small medium and large...then you alwaus have what they are looking for hali's, forage minnows, marmish maggots, Arnolds fair/flutter jig

I won't go crappie or bluegill fishing without moon glow jigs. I use white about 50% of the time and chartruse, orange or combinations of the three colors the rest of the time. They hook up better for me then some other jig styles. I use 10s mostly but also have some 12s and 8s.
Small swedish pimples also work well for me when the crappies and bluegills are very active or almost negative if that make sense. When the fish are moving a lot and hitting hard I use the plain single hook with a wax worm. When the fish are just looking I tie a small hook on a short dropper with a small waxie or a eurolarvae or two. Pimples and other small spoons give you several options. I always have a few of them along.
I always have a bunch of other jigs along but those are the ones I won't go without.

I'm lost when I run out of my arnold fairy jigs. orange and gold is my favorte but chartruse and gold works well to. If I run out of them, the pickeral and pike have a way of biting them off on me, I'll use any other small teardrop or horizontal jig. Maynard's flutter bug is almost as good, it's the same idea, but I seemed to miss more bites with them. good fishin

a good auger, something to sit on, small aberdeen gold and bronze hooks, small splitshots, some small jigheads or ice perch eyes[ for jigging ], a decent light rod for the pannies, minnows and maggots, safe ice and someone at home that will clean and cook your catch lol. tight lines happy holidays and stay on top.

I like the Techniglo Genz bugs and Genz worms. But I fish a panfish lake that is fairly stained greenish water. bring your little clip light to charge up the jigheads so they stand out.
Don't forget the beer.
- Good fishing

Don't forget an auger or all the jigs in the world won't catch a fish. I've gone out with nothing more than an auger, a wooden stick with chalk-line for line, a hook, and a hand full of grain. Some times its best to keep things simple.

For crappies, a glo Genz worm tipped with a maggot or three is deadly.
Tight lines.

Hali
Swedish Pimple
Ratso
Some sort of "prop" jig
These are usually my goto lures when I hit the ice. I normally have at least 4 jigging rods ready to rip with the above lure tied on. Then of course various live baits to tip with.

Jaw spreaders and hemostats or long needlenose pliers.
Something to charge your glow jigs with...a super bright LED or a camera flash works.
