Curious if you were to add 3 songs to an ice fishing playlist what 3 songs would they be? I have been listening to the Grateful Dead non stop lately and am looking to compile a nice Ice Fishing playlist for the upcoming season.
To clarify I’m more looking for songs you would like to hear while ice fishing vs ice/fishing themed songs.

Any Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson works

I do enjoy Sturgill. I gotta check out Tyler Childers. Any songs in particular?

How about “The Sounds of Silence” ?
Out of respect, I sincerely hope your “playlist” includes headphones! >:(

He doesn't have a bad one ,that kids the real deal

So, Mike, I am curious about the "parameters" of your question.
Does the playlist you are asking about simply have to feature the responder's picks for top 3 songs?
Or do the songs in question have to specifically include an icefishing theme (such as lyrics about "thin ice" or the like)?

I like black ice from acdc and in this river from black label society.but thats just me,im a old metalhead..trapped under ice from metallica isnt on my playlist tho during icefishing.lol

Yeah I am not a fan of amplified music while fishing.

More the former but some of the latter doesn't hurt.

Gotta have some Neil Young, down by the river.

OK, I'll play.
Assuming were talking ice-fishing themed songs, I'll go with:
(1) "Cold as Ice" by Foreigner.
(2) Pretty much anything by The Yoopers.
(3) "We Love the Green and Gold" by Pat McGurdy.
OK, the last two are "novelty" songs more than anything else, and the last one is really more of a Green Bay Packers song than an icefishing song, but what the hell - - It's surprising how few fishing (much less icefishing) themed songs there are out there.

Ice fishing is polka time!
-
The only electronically produced sounds I listen to on the ice is the whine of my Vexilar. ;)
Keep it safe! JDL

The one the only.

I'll bite, enjoy tuning at times out fishing solo.
Stand Back - Allman Brothers - Dude give me some room to fish
Dreams I'll never see - (ABB) Bucket list of doing the deed in a portable shanty.... not happening
Whipping post - ABB I can't help I'm putting a whipping on you today catching fish 5 to your 1.
-
So I guess I have to mention that I am asking for song suggestions not people's opinion on if I am using headphones or not (don't worry gents I am wearing headphones). Sorry someone with a bluetooth speaker hurt some of you. ::)
-
Anything Slayer or Pantera. Maybe some Armored Saint or Death Angel. ;)
-
Ok I'm into hard rock but with an "ice fishing theme" song has to be the one hit wonder from Vanilla Ice with the song Ice Ice Baby!
Sing it get it stuck in your head and hope for early and a long Ice Ice Baby fishing season!!!!
Then I'll go crank some old Van Halen, Motörhead, AC/DC etc... Not no the ice though
smitty

Forgot to say; on the drive out it's the Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin. Since, ya know... Ice and snow...
-
OVERKILL and anything on Liquid Metal!

If you are going with Tyler, you gotta check out Zach Bryan (no not zach brown).

Zach is awsome as well, as long as we going this direction, Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley and Guy Clark have some nice mellow kicking back stuff.

Variations of this question have been asked before.
It depends on my mood but I’ll always have the ability/equipment to play music loud in case someone gets too close. I prefer to be left alone when fishing. I deal with people every day at work. On my off day I don’t want to be bothered. If someone moves in on me they get a dose of “The bagpipes and drums of Scotland.” If I’m particularly annoyed and really want to be left alone then playing the “Metal Machine Music” album by Lou Reed is always a winner.

Blue Sky - Allman Brothers Band
Do it Again - Steely Dan
Black Water - Doobie Brothers
Those are the first songs that popped into my head that all remind me of sitting on the ice slamming lakers ;D

If for playing on the ice, please use headphones. There is nothing more annoying than going on a relaxing, quiet ice fishing trip to hear some rude person playing music. Not sure why any one would do that when you are out to hear nature. Usually by me people that do that are of a different breed. LOL
