Headed out on Chateaugay Lake this A.M. chasing perch.
Drilled 1 hole, dropped a line caught a Keeper, dropped the line back down caught another keeper.
So I put up my portable shanty, set up the Mr. Heater, put in a big chew and dropped the line back down the hole. I usually let the line go all the way to the bottom and then real it up just enough so it's not resting on the bottom. As I am reeling it up so it's not on the bottom I notice that as I am reeling my rod bends over full throttle and the drag starts zipping. It didn't take me long to realize I had a pike on . So I am fighting this pike and I am by myself and I try to grab my camera out of my back pack as I am fighting this fish in hopes of getting a cool picture. Well I didn't get a good picture the fish just wouldn't work with me. I was attempting to get a shot of me putting him in the hole but as I am trying to hold the pike and focus the camera away he went. I did get a couple of shots of him just not as good of ones as I was hoping for.
I stayed there the rest of the day and went home with a nice batch of Perch, a few slobs were caught.
