My goal for the 16/17 ice season was to ice and release one over 20lbs. I crushed that with this one. No more 8" holes for me.

I def let my Co brethren down by not entering the tourney. But in a length competition that fish suffers and its weight is stolen from.

Length was 43". The tape had slipped from under the bucket in the pic and we were working fast to ensure a healthy release. My 30# boga was maxed out deep. So we went to a Berkley digi and it read 33.71. Feel it's a little on the light side but 33, I can live with.

And to be fair to the post that noticed the snow on the ice and not the mountains. Here in CO we have to do some things to better protect these larger lake trout. Our state ain't too fond of feeding em stocker trout and have done some crazy things here to save Kokanee and rainbows in the lakes. Plus not everybody believes in C&R. So yeah, the background is photoshopped.
