I’m not complaining those things happen
Was headed out this morning but don’t feel like dealing with the wind that’s coming

I haven’t checked yet. I may take a look tomorrow. Not many fish run until the ice goes out. I would guess the hatchery will be in full swing next week.

The ice is still holding on here.

I checked the creek this evening and did not see any eyes. It is cranking pretty good.

Just a shout out to Filet & Release as a reminder of the Wildwood Sports Center Flea Market tomorrow from 10am to 4pm. I'll be there early setting up, so stop by if you're not out walking upon the water. I wouldn't blame you if you were either.
I see Grout Brook was pretty good opening day or so. There must be fish in the stream for sure.
This goes for any of you other guys who aren't fishin'. You might as well come spend some money ;D Or go stream fishing or just come for a couple of beers and lunch...

Aw a flat blank screen...that's a good time to hang up your creepers for the year. I used to quit when I started to get wet feet. :o lmao

No worries about Wildwood. It was a good sale for me. There were some new vendors from the club this year. Lots of recurve bows and a guy making strings for them also, he was quite busy. There were new bows, old bows, guns knives and lots of fishing lures. I sold tandem streamers, those little spoons, a turkey call, copper bracelets to 3 of the wives of Wildwood and lots of small knives to kids and their dads. It was a good day. It's had to beat that show for me.

I bought a Delta 9" Bandsaw that I'll be able to cut metal with...Looking forward to a new tool, throw away the hacksaw and the pipe cutter, lol.
I'm probably not going to the Pompey show...I think it's next week...*see up date below...I go to my New York State Gold  Prospector meeting in Solon, NY every 2nd saturday of the month. There's not much gold in NY; but we raffle off a nugget each month and buy more nuggets with the raffle money...
it's just a good day off for me to hang with a few friends and have lunch, a few laughs and charge my batteries.
I might stop at Grout Brook and or Lourdes Camp on the way home. Probably should pick up some night crawlers and egg sacs somewhere this week.

*UPDATE Pompey Run and Gun Club Annual Sportsman Flea Market is April 20th from 9am to 1pm
Take care Fred, go catch some trout and I'll try to do the same... ><{{{{">       ><">--------------------------------------------------------------

We had a meeting with Cornell last night. Tons of great info.

Average ice out is April 1st.

The average number of days with ice has been shrinking roughly 6 days per decade for the past 2 decades. The ice out stays about the same but ice up has been getting later. The historical date of ice up used to be around January 1st.

They estimated 15,000 walleyes and 192,000 perch were harvested this winter. Higher than normal, but we already knew that.  ;D

EPIC info Bruce!! 😎 A few of us definitely helped put a dent in that perch population. 😁

I wonder what a pile of 192,000 perch looks like??🤔😜

Any idea how they arrive at the above numbers for harvest data ?

They did a creel survey this winter January - March. 1 person interviewed around 700 fisherman all around the lake. They actually traveled around the lake via snowmobile, they didn’t just wait at access points.

I would assume that from there they made a calculation based on the total number of fisherman counted in the areas.

Just drove by the lake on the south shore by the big islands.  West wind whipping big time some pretty good white caps.  No ice in sight anywhere.  Time to get the boat uncovered and start to get things ready.
