Yeah, we do it now and then on the East Branch of the Delaware. I don't eat them but one guys father pickels them and they love it.

Yeah we use hooks, and the holes are cut in the ice instead of drilled so they're big.

They are excellent smoked. They have next to no fish flavor any other way.

It's just hard to get by the thought of what they eat. But I eat bullhead and eel so it shouldn't be.

Oh yeah!
You will want to take them somewhere to have them smoked where they know what they're doing. I tried smoking one myself but I had a heck of a time keeping it lit and the slime leaves a really bad taste in your mouth!   :woot:

That's the deal. You drive them like deer but you got to make sure you don't hook any rainbows while you're at it :D :D

there was an episode on in-fisherman about under utilized fish species, and suckers was one of them.  it was stated that they have good white fillets and are tasty.   myself i've never had one so don't know.

I like to hit the suckers when they are running up the creeks in the spring:

We used to go sucker spearing as a kid but now the #'s aren't what they used to be. I think they've cleaned up the Delaware too much for them.
