Big thing I find is not to move the bait in anyway shape or form.  Big gills like to eat bait that is not moving at all, I mean if the line is twisted and turning the lure they will swim away.  Seen it too many times on the camera to count.  Oh, green seems to work best for me. Hope this helps.

i use small bibbets, usually pink, tan or glowing colors, what ever conditions.  glowing ones work good early morning on sunny days, and on cloudy days, all day.  but the pink is pretty versitile.  like superx2 said, don't move it too much.  if anything, just bounce it about 1-2 inches.  theres a trick too.  pick the pole up as high as you can reach, then put it down really slowly and jouce it on the way down slightly.  then let it sit, cause they like it on the down fall.  green works pretty good to, light green, almost chartruce or whoever you spell it.
get out there and fish...or hunt

Gold is a decent productive color. I have success on most partial glow marmooskas as well different sizes. I also use two jigs tied to the same line (all the time), 6-10" apart for the suspenders. For the pannies there are so many different brand jigs, most work well with the proper presentation.

Use larger presentations...it keeps the smaller ones away ;)

Pete, I was under the impression that those jigs came with a confidentiality agreement. Since you've violated that agreement I insist you turn them over to the proper authorities immediately!

Small green horizontal jig for me. Problem is I try different lures but if nothing bites I tie old faithful on. Oh yeah neon green and doesn't glow in the dark.

I like the lime green personally.  This week, I will be messing around with a few gold ones in different shapes and sizes, just to keep it interesting.  I see guys fishing panfish making lots of big pendulum movements with their jigging rods also and wonder why.  If you have a Vex you can pretty much see where they are stacked in the column.  Put your jig there and maybe give it a little twitch once in a while. That's what 'gils like.  Crappies seem to like that bigger lift /drop move.

Thanks for all the great responses guys.Went out last night for a couple hours to test out some of the posts i read.   8 big ones in two hours! Thats good in this particular spot.   Conclusion; I was using way too much movement before.Subtle twitches and the slow drop worked. Downsized the lures and went to glow white/ green. Ill be out getting some gold and pinks too. One thing i never expected to hear was CLEAR/GLITTER,  is the super secret out?    Heres one of mine for finicy perch. A small caddis imitation tied 3inches under a med heavy jig like pimples.. Any small fly with a couple leg hairs on it work. For those lookers, hold steady then slowly raise the fly with one spike on it in front of there nose. That one coutesy of good ol, Gary in w.n.y.     Thanks for the help guys  You Rock.  AQUAMAN
