Brant Lake info
« on: Feb 01, 2016, 08:02 PM »
Just fished Brant last weekend for the first time and had some decent luck. We fished near the islands out from the boat launch. However since it was the first time, I'd like to go back, but was wondering if there are better areas of the lake to target Perch or Trout? Any info such as lake access (especially with a quad), or better areas of the lake to fish would be appreciated! (Doesn't have to be your secret honey hole...or GPS coordinates, just looking for general locations.)

I was told at the north end of the lake near the point off of Palisades rd was good for Perch, but when we went to check it out we couldn't find a place to park or access that wasn't someone's private camp/property.

Any info you could share would be appreciated! Thanks everyone and tight lines!

You can park on the side of the road farther up Palisades road (a little ways north of the point I think you're referring too) as long as there's no snow. Once there's snowbanks there isn't really any room. If you do park there be very careful getting on the ice, there was about 1-2 feet of open water along shore where the ice had buckled when I was there last weekend. Had to use a 2x6 to walk on.

I'm heading up this weekend with my friend and his kids, and am hoping to get on some perch.  I'd love to see the kids messing with some perch.

Thanks for the info everyone! I appreciate it! We ended up parking at the boat launch and just riding the Quads up to the north end. Found some really nice perch and a few crappies!

Fished northeast end today and there was about 14 - 15" of ice.  Got a few perch, no trout or crappies.  Slow day overall.

fished up at the north end on sunday...15" of ice, bite was slow but managed some perch and crappie.

tried getting on at the launch on south end, but shoreline was all broke up...same at Jimbos. couldnt get out anywhere with our quad.

Parked at north end and walked out, shore was still solid up there.
