they're fun....but i don't think they actually help CATCH fish much...yes, i've got an aqua-vu depth-tech...gotta have really CLEAR water to work up to it's potential....that said, if you take kids...they are a must.

Fish TV here $79.00 @ scheels. The 12 volt battery runs the TV & 2 sets of rope lights. I tried to avoid the Vex with the TV. ??? I was just fooling myself, 3 weeks later bought the Vex, oh well. Never leave home without it 8)  Perkeyone

When the fish are biting well they probably aren't all that necessary but on a tough bite day seeing exactly how the fish respond can make all the difference. Totally worth the price.

Some days I'll drop the camera set it up on my bench sit back and slay the gills. No flasher no sight fishing just watching the fishing show live on TV. If the wifes along I just sight fish since the cameras her's.

Camara can really help you on a slow bite, seeing how the fish react and etc.
It also comes into play when looking for brush piles or other structure, it also shows you what kinda fish you are dealing with.
you dont know how many times i have moved because of small fish or undesireable fish, my oppinion not neccesary but worth the money and good addition to your arsenal..........don't buy one if you only make it our 4 or 5 times a year and it is not a tool to use after dark will scare the fish with the lights

Flasher then camera!  The camera helps on light bites!  The fish suck the bait in and spit it out without the line even moving.  I increase my catch by 100% on slow days, it also keeps you entertained too!

Cameras are invaluable for finding hidden structure.  With a vexilar you can only tell if the bottom is hard or soft.  Not rocks or boulders or gravel. Or muck or sand or etc.
