and because a police can pull you over on the lake, insurance agencys in MN, by law, pay the fines, the recovery, and the fix or replacement.
i beleive you are incorrect. many compnays will cover the cost of you vehicle (sometimes you have to pay extra for that coverage) but they will not cover the recovery fees and deffinatly not the fines.does your insurance company pay your speeding tickets? why would they pay these fines?they will only cover the cost of fixing or repplacing the vehicle. the rest is up to you.

seems i remember in recent years a fleet of snowmobile (factory sponsored) race rigs, tractor-trailers etc... all being sunk on a lake in minnesota too ... that was one cool photo! ... need to try to find it again for a good laugh.i drive a 3/4 ton pickup that will never be on the ice no matter what the conditions ... that's what 4-wheelers are for!
