Because i have the Sportsmans Connection western adirondacks ny fishing map and it shows Muskellunge lake and under Accessibility it says state-owned carry-down off the New Connecticut Rd. Iv fished the lake befor with permishion of a camp owner but im just not sure were exactly the carry-down is.  ???

  • To fish or not to fish, that is the question!

I've found that the sportsman's guide connection book is not always accurate. Although it is a good start, not all of the information seems to be correct. I would contact the local dec office to find out. They would know. Or, contact the local warden. He should also know.

That book also says there is Muskies in there. I have been fishing it for years and never seen one! take that book with a grain of salt. Trust me all private. One camp that rents cottages in the summer only.

Hey Guys!  I own a camp up there and it is all private, Genes Camp is a commercial camp site but only rents in the summer.  That book is not always accurate, like saying there are muskie in there!!  There are no muskie in Muskie!!!  I don't get it either.  Sorry to dissappoint anyone.  I have to get permission to lauch a boat becasue I don't ave deeded lake rights!

Try Hyde Lake for Tigers, I have not fished there for a few years but have had success!

If I'm correct I believe the lake is still state property, it's just getting on the lake that is the issue.  Correct me if I'm wrong.
