Ah, I remember that day well....unfortunately.  :D :D  Fishing Honeoye with a couple of buddies. As soon as they knew I had a bass on the hook, there were 3 cameras within 10 feet of me. If that stinky carp hadn't swallowed the hook, I never would have touched it. My hands stunk for a week.

Ahhh yes, that's the EyeDoctor we know and love!!!!

;D THATS FUNNY STUFF ! And to think he showed the doc that there are walleye in that lake?  :o

I told him at the bait shop the first morning that he would catch one and I didn't care if I caught one or not as long as he did. Both things happened.

First off, welcome back to ice fishing. If you ever get back up north drop me a line. I live on Higley Flow and would be more than happy to meet up with ya. My suggestion is save your pennies and invest in some decent equipment if you plan on getting back into it seriously. I skimped out many years and got by. But I also suffered- dull auger, falling apart tip ups, broken poles, cold feet..... I was out on the ice and just said I had enough. I cut my fishing trip short, went to Gander Mtn. and splurged- new auger, new gloves, new fish trap shanty, Mr. Buddy heater, etc. It was well worth every cent and I enjoy my outings even more, especially in the worst of weather. When the snow is sideways, I'm still jiggin' away. Good luck to ya, happy fishin'.
