Ah!  the hidden paranoia of Ice Shanty membership!  Can it be for the same reason many do not post useful reports and conditions? Maybe they really believe someone will use their information to find their hot spots and catch all the fish in "their" lake??

Some just do not want to give out that info, it sure makes it a lot easier to answer some questions though. How is the ice? Is this a legal fish? Looking for someone to fish with.... and on it goes.

 I think it is because of the freezer possession limit. They don't want the fish and game people checking them out.

True …keep it simple folks County and State …hard to answer certain regional/state specific questions..lots of questsions wont get answered otherwise .
