Great Falls Area

Hello all, new to montana ice fishing (from MN) just wondering where you guys go pretty close to great falls (<90mins) and what bait and stuff you use. I'm used to Walleye, perch, bass, and pike so not sure if I can find them out here or if it's mostly trout. Any information you can give me helps! Thanks guys!

Welcome. You have lots of options. Tiber, Francis, Holter, Hauser and Canyon Ferry to name a few.

No minnows alowed right around GF. Look on the MT FWP webpage and they have a complete list of waters and regs.

You can use dead minnows legally in the Central district . Perch eyes work good also.

You can use live minnows downstream of Morony Dam and in quite a few lakes/rivers in Central
