How many of you use red glow spoons and jigs ? I have never tried them but am curious if they would be good for crappie and brook trout , any help appreciated .
-
Can't comment on these being good for brown trout, but I use this color for crappie. Red is always a good color along with white and pink.

I tend to use natuaral colors in general ..perch/blue gill and minnow patterns ...along with the tried and true pink and white for crappie in particular . If it rattles and/or glows put me in coach . But last season I tied on a wonder bread colored horizontal jig..which did glow and I must say I did quite well with it on multiple outings. I would use red to target pearch and in cloudy/stained water. Having confidence in your choice and proper cadence is what catches the most fish on most days. This season I will be adding some more wonder bread patterened tackle.

It’s about all I ever use too. Before I left the industry I had about 2000 hooks painted in red glow. I still have a small jar of the REAL powder, not the junk sold at Fleet and other retail stores.
