Bwahahahaha-

Walked the dogs from dam to back of Lonetree today.  I'm guessing the lake is .00001% iced.  Couple tiny bays had geese sitting on the ice up to 20 ft from shore.  So technically there IS ice on it. ;D

i coulda told you that you googan.

i scouted it last week.  was wide open.... we need some cold temps, bad.   till that happens looks like im goin' hat shopping if i need perch.

Got excited there for a minute. This wind hasn't helped either. Took the the pooch out to Chatty on Friday, had about 50ft of ice along the shore when we got there, hour later it had blown to the middle of the lake.

I walked on Shadfield yesterday. Didn't have my spud bar so I didn't venture too far. The whole south end is capped. It's going to be tough access this winter due to all the construction. >:(

I walked on the crack today. Like Brewski, no spud so didn't go very far. i was surprised no one fishing the tower. Looked pretty safe to me.

Saw someone spud baring the tower on my way home this evening, driving the dam road. Dude wasn’t too far out from shore when I saw him.  Still lots of open water on the crack.

Yea, agree. Have the day off tomorrow and would like to try somewhere with safe ice. Definitely cold enough to be making ice on the front range. Glad the snow missed us or that would of screwed things up on locked up ice. Need a real good arctic blast!

I stopped drove through CC park from the marina down to the point, lots of open water and one dude was fishing between the boat launch and the marina.

Cherry Creek  :P place sucks. Honestly has anyone caught anything threw the ice out there the last 3-4 years. Slimers don't count unless that's your thing but really they don't count.

How thick do you estimate the ice was?  Yeah, it pretty much sucks that Catfish Flats and Fox Run are closed for the ice season!  Not to mention no fishing the ponds, Kigfisher, or the Marina area.  And I just heard the North ramp is closed too?  :%$#!: :%$#!: :%$#!:

Yes, Last year Jan 14th and 17th:







The thing I've learned about CC is that there is a very short window to catching eyes through the ice. You are wasting your time sitting there all day  ;)

Shadfield is the same way.  While your odds go WAY up during these windows, I've also noticed that you still can catch some during the off times, but at a much lower rate.

Nice, Good job on getting out. The lake shouldn't have much pressure this year. You'll defiantly have to work to fish it. ;)
