Perch rod - recommendation
« on: Nov 16, 2020, 02:59 PM »
I am looking for a ice fishing perch rod, reel combo, light action many of our lakes are crystal clear.
Max $50, glancing at Fleet farm I see a Fenwick Nighthawk combo light action 26 inch.
Retiring soon and will be doing more perching than in the past. I have a light/medium and
medium combo already (dirt cheap rigs) looking to upgrade. Thoughts? I welcome your favorite
set up but again looking for light action due to clear water use.

St Croix Mojo Ice might be worth checking out.

Really have fallen in love with the 32 med light bro series with quick tip and inline. Have 3 of them now in the box. But it matters on your feel of fishing. I run 4 lb braid to a flouro leader for panfish because I want to feel the bites. So it becomes a preference.
When Hell freezes over I'll fish there too.

My favorite pond near the house is deep water perching. Once lake trout season opens mid Jan, I do a lot of that but always take a perch rod just in case.
Thank you for the suggestions.
