Carter's Pond Crappies
« on: Feb 25, 2018, 03:15 PM »
Heading out to Carter's tomorrow before the weather takes away what's left. Is it worth putting out fatheads on tipups for the crappie here? Or will the bass get them all day. I know that place is loaded with bass but I'm just interested in the crappie right now. Thank you tight lines!

It's hit or miss there. We went to carters once this year and it was a slow day. I'm not sure how anyone else has fared out this year on the pond but it was slow for us .
If you want crappies I would target cossy by the oaks.

We hit the oaks on the left side last week and got skunked jigging. 6 or 7 good sized bass but maybe better luck next time

We were fishing the drop off on the shore to the left. Tons of bass from the group. I’ve fished to the right and got perch/bullhead  ??? So next time I’ll give it a go off the point. I went to check out the ice today, seems like there’s stilll thick ice a couple guys were out but the edges aren’t frozen anymore sadly
