I like the bait shop too, all the scenes on the ice including the shanty attack and fight. Oh yeah! also where the old man is offered a beer at his shanty, he grabs the five beers, says keep the change and slams the door of his shanty.. :laugh:

Burgess Meredith getting his Camels and telling Jack Lemon "what the hell do I care? I'm 94 years old."
Best line in the whole movie IMHO

The look on his face when his favorite pole disappeared under the ice. Priceless! Sometimes I forget he was only acting.

I like the fish under the seat, in the second one i like when the girl swallows a quarter and he says "if she craps out 2 dimes and a nickel then u can start worrying"

I would also have to say all of the above. I have a hard time choosing because I love the entire movie but if I had to chose one it would have to be the shack attack.

Yup, Burgess Meredith might well have been the funniest person in that movie. Really an unsung hero

In the second one the scene where he shows the nude sculpture on the stores tv and when the father comes out with the old lady and says speak for yourself-about getting lucky.

When Walter Mathaeu And Jack Lemmon see eachother for the fisrt time, and Walter says " Mornin' Di** Head" I say that in walters voice every morning to a guy i work with. Makes us laugh every day.

definitely, fish in the car prank... loved it so much had to try it on one of my buddies.. he didnt' find it for 2 weeks. I stuck it up under the springs of his seat.. he did the same thing with Air fresheners.. still think about it and BUST UP!!!!

the whole movie is awesome. but i like the begining part :you mean john gustafson. probly at one of those kinky mens strip joints you know the kind where the men take off their clothes and thats if hes taken his medication.

The outtakes for sure. Burgess Meredith was a hoot... Heck everyone in the movie was excellent. Funny how all on this board are relating to that movie. An all time classic. ;D

In Grumpier Old men, the 2nd one.
I like Sophia Loren in the red dress,,,,oooolala....At 61 then, she was still hot in that red dress
I also like it when Sophia Loren and Walter Matthau are hunting for worms....
And they fall down, she say Holy Moly and he says Mama Meya....
Now if anyone remembers "Out To Sea" in 1997, where Jack and Walter go on a ship. Diane Cannon at the age of 60 then, still had a set of firecracker hot legs in a danceing scene.
Now for my favorite part in Grumpy Old Men, the 1st movie. When Walter is trying to stab Jack Lemon with a frozen walleye and the dad breaks them up and I think he says...." Dam kids, can live withem, can't killem "

love the nicknames... putz & moron, buddies & I hardly refer to each other by anything else on the ice. Gotta love the "You're the only fish I'd like to mount over my fireplace" bit too! What do you think those 2 would have thought of these fancy new thermal tip-ups with the blinking lights???

Yeah I do. My Uncle Tom and his fishing buddy Merle. Just fishing with these guys listening to the banter between shantys is priceless.
