Third and Fourth Depot Lakes
« on: Jan 04, 2012, 05:34 PM »
Hey Everyone,

I'm hoping to hit the depot lakes this weekend (specifically Third and / or Fourth Depot). Has anyone been out yet to either of those and if so what were the ice conditions?

Many thanks!
-A

Be safe n hook a few in the nuts

Sig - that's great news, thanks.  Any idea on ice thickness?  Are you talking the old church in Hay Bay?

Anyone else have 1st hand ice reports from BoQ?

I know where I'll be this weekend!!

Just be careful guys, the ice is there but it isn't great yet the North Shore is pretty sketchy along the The Reach and across from the Church... Spud, Spud, Spud!!!

For what is worth I was about 25 mins north of the 401 and there was a guy driving his half ton on a lake putting his ice bungalow out!!! I am thinking I am going to try Rock Lake next week, maybe Leviathan Slayer wants to try out that new propane auger and show me the ropes!!!

Hey Jigncraw,

Thanks for the info...it's comforting hearing that some folks on the back lakes are already putting their huts out. I still plan on spudding and checking myself as I go but still good to hear!

Take care and be safe,
