Strange catch

I never caught an American eel through the ice, it was pretty big too.

Woah that thing is crazy!  I would freak out if I yanked that up in my flipover and had it jumping around in there with me!  Mind if I ask what lake its from?

I got it at Chadwick lake in Orange County ,it kept tripping my tip ups and dropping the bait, then it hit a dead stick with a med shiner and my 6 yr old son reeled it in. It put up a good fight too!!  Lol

Nice...   Use to catch them in Willsboro Bay as a kid and clean  and fry them....

that might be the first one I have seen caught through the ice.  its a pretty big one to boot. 

You can smoke them or fry them they are pretty decent tasting.
