iceman. you can find the 20 ft of water straight off the boat launch without too far of a walk. The old river channel makes it's way in there. If you fish this area, look me up. I have a Clam 6800. Can't miss it. There's not many of those around. Tight lines to you.

Hey fellas, its been a while since I fished the derby, about 6 or 7 years. Is there any weed beds I can find in the rez or is there just too much current from the old river beds? Thanks in advance. I heard the top prize was $11,000 @)

I cant get them to pick up the phone.

The Sportsman's Den is onlyopen part time these days but I'm sure he will be open that early on derby day. He doesn't carry much tackle but does have bait. If you want tackle, try Top Line bait. It's on Rt 26 3 miles from the park entrance and he carries a lot of tackle and bait. He said he'd be open around 4AM.

I think it's 8 first 15min derby is 8:15 I rarely see people wait till 8 to fish.
We are always there at 5:30 and there are people fishing heck there are allot of people that fish all night long.
Drive by Friday night and there are lanterns everywhere.

28 - Biggest White Crappie (Length) per "Special" (each 15 min period between 8AM-3PM)
3   - Biggest White Crappie of the day - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place
6   - Biggest of numerous fish species (Over the entire event - Cuts off at 2 PM)

The judges stand. The line starts to form early but it goes fast.
Weather looks good 30ish beer wont freeze so fast.
Have a safe ride and good luck.

thay do it right on the ice, if you get into town earlier, i think you can register @the sportsmans den or the bait shop in lisle, not sure if they stop registration the night before or not.  most likely they do for logistics sake, your best bet is right on the ice
