thick ice
« on: Mar 09, 2015, 07:30 AM »
Had to get out yesterday! Went to Kingsland bay and was amazed that the ice was so thick I ccouldn't get to the water before running out of auger. This was in the bay. Thought i could use others holes but most of those were also dry. The perch are there but can't get to em.. guy with mefound a thinner spot and caught a real nice one. Ended up going out a long ways before the ice thinned out enough to get through. Small fish. Had to go to the champlain bridge to get a meal!

Was sitting just outside of Kingsland Bay early yesterday afternoon!

Didn't catch any fish, but could have just about reached out and touched a plane that buzzed past with its landing gear no higher than my head.

The ice under me was thick enough, but no more than 15"

Weather was decent, with the occasional snow squall
May the fish be with you.

Randy
