Just finished a 2 and a half day trip with a buddy and a family member and we hit it pretty good. Over the 2 and a half days we caught 23 pike over 36 inches with 12 of those being over 40 inches between our 6 lines. Caught around 60 pike with the biggest weighing in at just under 30lbs. Here are a few pics of some of the fish we got into.

Thoroughly enjoyed these pics, as I always do from you Canadians. Your 2.5 days of fishing for a few people exceeded the pike catch from the entire state of NY ice-fishing population for 3 months of ice fishing. I am not exxagerating. I am glad the pike fishing is great somewhere, it is just not here in NY.

I am always glad to see what you guys catch up there, but please don't ever forget the special treasure that you have. Tight lines to you guys always, and some day I hope I am welcome to join you up there.

I just looked at these pics again, and would never get tired of it. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I am glad that a fishing resource as good as this exists somewhere, but still envious that I am not close to it. I hope you fellas keep posting pics like this for years to come on this site.

Beautifull fish Farmboy, those are some real nice pike!
My group was there about a month ago and our largest on ice was 24 pounds. Should have iced way more but the trees stole a bunch of them.

Dfuller ,just a side note but Tobin lake is a great resource only because the proper regulations for a trophy fishery have been implemented and followed. Its one lake you just dont go to for a bunch of eater fish. Wish more lakes would adopt these regs.

That is good to know. I wish NY would do something like that in some lakes. But no, we are stuck with our 18" size limit - who wants to keep an 18" pike anyway? Even for eating, they are not that good for eating until they get to about 28". Again, since I am posting I want to repeat hiow wonderful those Saskatchewan pike are. That would be my ice trip to end all ice trips right there!

I hear you dfuller. Too many guys just like to keep all the fish they catch. CPR!! The st lawrence river could be such a dynamite fishery again if reg's were changed.

I dont go for muskies through the ice. I wouldnt know what to do if i had one that big up to the hole, mess my pants probably
