I wish I could post a link but I'm not sure of the proper html address.....last I head the Oswego was running pretty high, but still somewhat fishable in some areas below the powerhouse. I would assume there are still plenty of steelhead to be had, and would guess some of the post-spawn browns are still hanging around the area, but probably more down towards the harbor and on their way back out to the lake.......

Man....why don't you just eat the cat food from the grocery store.  I consider salmon to be silver and solid, not black and mushy...

I say congrats on the catch Mike and way to take advantage of the good weather recently!  I don't see what the harm is in eating those if you like them.

Don't know why some people have to act so high and mighty.  To each his own and once again congrats on the catch.  Despite these discouraging responses this site can be fun and informative.  Just that sometimes people type before they think sometimes (myself included).   :-X

In no way am I trying to demean your catch Mike...Those are some great salmon!   :)It's just that they're basically rotting from the inside-->out.  To each his own....I just don't think I would do it.  :-\

Nice catch. The river should have a nice selection of browns and steelies in it now. I am going today to check it out.

they didnt smell that bad yes they do look bad but they were on a stinger for a few hours.  yes there is an advisory for eating fish out of ontario but because of the mercury level. it is 1 fish per month.

There's a few trout around.  I'm not sure how fishable the oswego river is (i guess it's been running really high), but you can find some tribs in oswego county or fish the salmon river.  I think they have been fishing in the oswego harbor behind the motels.  Good luck!!

we clean are own fish.  and i have talked to a local dec and they were the ones that told me it was 1 fish a month. which i actually im not worried about it. i only took 1 fish out of the seven me myself i am not huge into eating salmon.  i go mostly for the sport. and the one fish i took is still in the freezer.
