have ice, will travel???? Or not?
« on: Dec 30, 2006, 08:07 PM »
Fellow NYS icers - I'm from CNY, and am already planning trips to the North Country in lieu of good ice locally. How many of you are willing to make a (3+) hr. trek for solid water?  Just curious - we're already figuring out how many of my buds we can pack into a hotel room like sardines to offset the gas $$$.  When it comes, wherever it comes, we're gonna be there..............eve n if it's just for pannies :) Not like we have to compete with the sledders for available space anyhow........

Bigfish:   3 hrs is only half-way for me!  I routinely travel 5-7 hrs during the season to fish near my cottage in upstate NY.  IMO, Upstate NY has the best ice fishing anywhere. ;)

Baginwal -

We no doubt have a few killer spots around CNY, but looks like we'll be on your path this season......Granted, if I had a camp in that general direction, I'd be making nice long trips routinely every weekend as well :)  Good luck out there!
