The Dead Sea!
« on: Aug 18, 2006, 10:39 PM »
Who, else from IceShanty, fishes on it? (local inside pun on the name) I'm mainly on the west end. If, I could spell, or knew computers, I, would have asked, allot more about the Sea and the pepole on this site.

I have heard of Mille Lacs refered to as the "dead sea" by people who don't know how to fish, if you want help you are going to have to be a little more specific. ;)

I've tried for cats during open water on Lake P-----, if that's the one you're referring to.  Never been up there in the winter.  Where's Fremont?

Fishing on Poygan is not bad...I have fished it many a time.  If you travel up river more and get into Partridge and then even Partridge Crop (between Weyauwega and New London)  there is better fishing.

Wegashanty! In the upper river Partridge area? Do you have the problem of drilling a hole, cleaning it out, looking in with your head covered, seeing one dead shad on the bottom, plus two or three small perch or white bass, swimming around? There's allot of food, in the chain in my opinion! ??? But mines got a hook in it! The FISH KNOW!!  :o

I have never had a problem pulling in plenty of Crappies...quite a few over 12 inches....but I agree its tough to fish with all the weeds and whatnot.  My favorite lake is a smally south of waupaca called McCallister.

I'm fishing, for the water-wolf, slime-schuster, gator, and by any other name, the PIKE!! How, do you entice, a really big and fat fish to bite, when they have food, hanging out of they're mouth's!

Every state should have a "Dead Sea".  This gives you a reason to talk big....

I drilled hundreds of holes, searched all the key locations and had to quit, ran out of time and beer. :o

Any lake, any where can be called the dead sea.  Sometimes a slight change in your presentation can trigger the most finicky fish to bite.  ;)
